The guard shack with angry looking, heavily armed, rambo-esque security has been empty for at least two years. Marana Aerospace Solutions took over in 2012, and I believe the guards went away soon thereafter. I explored at least two years ago on my usual Tucson-Phoenix drive.

**FOR ANYONE GOING AND ROAMING AROUND MARANA: BE EXTREMELY CAREFUL FOR SNAKES.** Also, do use caution where you drive as there is still an active military base. The MPs leave you alone until you get close to their part of the airport.
